NOVA-TRAC Officially Launches with Strong Business and Community Support

We are proud to announce that we are officially launching the Northern Virginia Transit Revitalization Advocacy Coalition (NOVA-TRAC) today. We are members of the community fighting to improve transit in Northern Virginia, focusing first and foremost on our plan to build a regional rail line alongside the W&OD trail.

Our plan would sustainably connect growing communities for an affordable price, reduce traffic, bring new jobs, opportunities, walkable developments, tourism and equity benefits to the region.

We are happy to announce that we are not alone in fighting for this plan. We are launching with the support of many local businesses and nonprofit groups who have formally endorsed our project, including:

Businesses:

  • The Hamilton Mercantile

  • Catoctin Creek Distillery

  • Styles by Stefani

  • Red Kabob

  • Gvino Enoteca

  • Bluemont Station Brewery & Winery

  • Lowry's Crab Shack

  • Structural Engineering Group (SEG)

  • Sweet Rose Bakeshop

Nonprofits and Community Groups

  • Village Montessori School at Bluemont

  • Northern Virginia Affordable Housing Alliance (NVAHA)

  • Embark Center

The endorsements of these businesses and organizations shows we have strong support among the communities which would be connected by the project. It demonstrates that businesses and nonprofits see the economic, social and equity benefits that the project would provide.

We look forward to pushing this project forward and building a new, sustainable and accessible Northern Virginia.
